The Last Archide is a novel of epic proportions. Love and loss, trust and betrayal, and most of all, complete lust for power. Oryan, from the very first page, is more than just another slave boy. He is strong and courageous and is only a fraction of what he grows up to be.

As the book continues, he goes on a journey with so many twists and turns, you expect to get whiplash from just reading it. Its not just edge-of-your-seat, but standing-on-the-edge-of-a-cliff excitement. Oryan truly gives no quarter–he is on top, doing his best, riding high. But the farther he goes, the more careless he seems to become. The more human he gets as he looks back on his life and struggles to make sense of his purpose in life. With the books unexpected ending–Oryan’s apparent fall from such rough heights rocks the reader to his/her core–comes a fierce desire to know what happens next. This novel is much different from other novels that stick to cliche outlines and overused characters. I know I quite enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good book to not just read, but fall in love with wholeheartedly.

“The Last Archide is not your run of the mill action/adventure Fantasy novel. The characters have depth and are well developed throughout the book.
It is rare in this genre to have characters that are so multi-faceted and a storyline that is so unpredictable and engaging.
My attention was held from beginning to end in this epic tale and vivid world Chad has created. This story is full of humanity, adventure, honor, love, defeat, strategy, torture and victory.
To borrow Chad’s own words: ‘And so the legend began and grew and spread. By the day’s end, the whole world knew what had transpired here. There was a new kind of warfare coming. It had smashed conventional combat and tactics as a wave of a storm smashes ships against rocks.’
Chad’s novel is destined to become a legend that smashes conventional fantasy adventure. I was truly captivated and enthralled and am waiting anxiously for the continuation!”

“Chad has created a vivid and incredible world with The Last Archide, and has only begun to tell a tale that can easily be described as “epic.” Set in a futuristic era where the technology has advanced to the point where the rules of warfare had to be rewritten, this masterful tale enthralls readers. Due to the invention of an impenetrable armor, armies are reduced to hand-to-hand combat to once again raise the stakes of war. Out of these high stakes rises a hero for the ages.”
